Hosakakwai Host sensei Akinori Hosakas family

On Saturday the 6th of January, Sale Judo Club, Hosaka Kwai,
had the privilege of hosting from Japan, the great-grandnephew of our
founding coach, Akinora Hosaka 8th Dan.
Kan, his wife, Erina were and accompanied by their
daughter and the English host and translator, Mark Dawson from Bury
Kan and Erina were feeling quite overwhelmed and weren’t
expecting such a reception. The feedback from Mark was that being able to hear
these stories and see photos helped piece together information about their
great-granduncle and touched them dearly.
Also in attendance was Dave Nicholls 6th Dan who
coached the Saturday session and later shared numerous memories of Aki with the
family over drinks
