Southampton Samurai Judo Club is inviting your club to our Annual Novice Primary / Junior Competition. This competition is NOT for National or Squad players.

Juniors who enter MUST BE UNDER GREEN BELT.

It is being held on the 26^th April 2026 at Oasis Academy Mayfield. Ashley Cres, Southampton SO19 9NA

THE CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES IS THE 21^st April 2026.

The following fees apply for the Championship.

Entry Fee for all Primary / Junior entries £15.00

 

Weigh in Times Primary’s 08.30am. Junior’s 11.30am.

The Championship will be run under BJC Contest Rules.

         Prohibited Techniques for All Primary’s and Junior’s.

1       Armlock’s.                                                                                   All under 16 years

2       Strangles.                                                                                     All under 16 years

3       Sacrifice throws.                                                                         All under 16 years

4       Kubi Nage. (A throwing attempt where the neck is encircled). All under 16 years.

          5    Makikomi. (Where the attacker falls on the thrown opponent). All under 16 years

          6    Kata Gurama.                                                                              All under 16 years

          7    Drop Knee Seoi-Nage.                                                                All under 16 years

          8    Leg or Ankle Grabs.                                                                   All Ages

9        No contestant will be weighed down.

10    No coaching at the side of the mat.

11    Zoris must be worn to and from the mat area.

12    No drinks permitted in the mat area. 

13    Only club coaches will be permitted at the mat area.

14    No back patches to be worn on judo GI.

          15 Contestants are NOT allowed to wear BLUE / REVERSIBLE GI’s when

      fighting. NO WHITE GI. NO FIGHT.

16.  All Female and Male contestants who wear a T/SHIRT it must be PLAIN WHITE

17. THE MAT MARSHALL DECISION WILL BE FINAL IN ALL CASES.

Oasis Academy nor Southampton Samurai Judo Club or their staff will not accept any responsibility for any LOSS, DAMAGE or INJURIES whilst attending this competition.

All clubs will be issued with 1 coach pass. Club coaches to collect all entry fees and pay Mr D Dyer.
